Kardium Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Jigs and Tools (Hybrid) to join our Software Verification Team. This hybrid role is located in Burnaby, BC.

We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System.

We are seeking an SDET to join our Software Verification Team, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of manufacturing jigs, developer tools, and the clinical workstation powering our life-saving medical device.

Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful work you will be a part of
  • Design, lead, and execute verification and validation activities for software development tools, manufacturing jigs, and the Windows configuration for the clinical workstation
  • Provide mentorship, support team growth, and promote high standards in quality and testing
  • Develop test plans and assist with the automation of test cases that verify software requirements
  • Identify, analyze, and report software defects and issues, and work with the development team to resolve them
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and optimization of the Windows software configuration (Windows Image), integrating customer and production feedback
  • Conduct code reviews and help maintain the quality and reliability of test automation code
  • Partner with development teams to review and improve software requirements
  • Hands-on validation of production jigs and collaboration with development teams to drive improvements
  • Develop scripts to improve processes for updating and deploying Windows configuration changes
  • Ensure the clinical workstation complies with cybersecurity guidelines from regulatory authorities
  • Stay current with medical device software standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and testing best practices

You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
    • 8+ years of experience with software verification and validation testing
    • Experience with writing specifications, test protocols, and test reports
    • Deep understanding of test automation strategies, frameworks, and best practices
    • Proficiency in Python, Power Shell, or other scripting languages
    • Proficiency in C# and Java is an asset
    • Foundational understanding of electronics and circuits
    • Hands-on experience with manufacturing jigs or hardware validation tools
    • Expertise with PC hardware and Windows configuration management
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies is an asset
    • Experience integrating CI/CD tools (e.g., Team City) into test workflows
    • Practical knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements and standards such as IEC 60601 is preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership with a focus on mentoring, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    • Proven ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team
