The Manager – Software Engineering ( Salesforce ) is responsible for task and personnel management of their Engineering team. The team will perform analysis, development and ongoing support of key Salesforce components and the related ecosystem. The Manager will manage a team of Software Engineers and work closely with System Integrators (Dev Ops), Solution Architects and Product Management to deliver high‑quality software and ensure that system components operate correctly once deployed.
The Manager will also be responsible for performance management of employees and contractors and career development of team members.
In this role you’ll:
Deliver high‑quality software efficiently
Provide technical and personnel leadership
Perform code reviews and provide feedback to team members
Perform systems maintenance tasks
Lead and mentor team members in technical and procedural aspects of software development
Work with Product Management to turn high‑level business requirements into technical tasks and provide estimates for implementation
Ensure product quality and reliability in production environments
Lead Software Development activities in an Agile workflow with Scrum, backlog grooming, retrospectives
Stay up to date on technical functionality, new releases and features that are part of the platform and broader ecosystem, and identify opportunities to leverage those technologies for the benefit of software products and the RB Global business
Work regular business hours remotely or onsite in Burnaby, BC
Manage on‑call after‑hours support as required and be available for critical production incidents
Establish performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews with all team members
Provide career management of all employees on the team
Perform other HR and financial processes as required
Lift moderately weighted computer equipment and peripherals from time to time
Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and that of your team, co‑workers and customers
Here’s what you bring:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related discipline
10+ years developing software in a variety of environments with a focus on Salesforce
3+ years of Technical Team Leadership
3+ years of Agile development
1+ year of Personnel management
