Summary:

A global, leading engineering company specialising in the repair and overhaul of heavy engines for the rail industry.

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an Engine Stripper to join our Engine Strip & Transmission team at the Barton Under Needwood site. The role involves dismantling and reassembling engines in line with manufacturer standards and warranty requirements. The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Roles can include:
Dismantle mechanical components of engines in accordance with instructions
Collect new parts and distribute them to the correct engines or machinery
Jet wash engines after final checks prior to dispatch
Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed by the manager in support of company objectives
Work in accordance with all 5S activities
Report any near misses
Ensure waste is disposed of correctly
Mentor trainees or apprentices where applicable
Report any issues or problems to the line manager
Comply with all company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Personnel policies and procedures
Take on additional responsibilities within the employee's skills and abilities

Person Profile/

Experience:

Experience with in the rail or automotive industry
Mechanical experience - ideally with relevant qualification
Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork skills
Flexible approach to work and responsibilities
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing deadlines and short lead times
