A dynamic and growing accountancy practice is seeking a Senior or Assistant Accountant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant to take on a role that combines accounts preparation, client interaction, and team leadership.
The successful candidate will work closely with directors and client managers, often leading projects and onsite audit/accounts work, while developing a strong, practical understanding of accounting, tax, and advisory issues. This is a role for someone motivated, professional, and keen to grow within a supportive and proactive working environment.
Role Responsibilities- Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Drafting personal and company tax returns, including supporting documentation, planning, and advisory work.
- Management accounts, VAT returns, and financial reporting.
- Liaising directly with clients, understanding their business, accounting systems, and processes to provide guidance and advice.
- Leading or supporting client projects, including onsite audits and accounts work.
- Reviewing, managing, and mentoring junior staff, ensuring work is prepared accurately for director review.
- Supporting client managers and directors in delivering advisory services and business solutions.
- Handling client queries professionally and proactively.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant with a minimum of three years' relevant experience in practice.
- Strong communication and team working skills.
- Motivated, proactive, and able to work to deadlines.
- Enjoys a client-facing role with the ability to build relationships and understand business needs.
- Willing to develop technical knowledge and take on new responsibilities.
