ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to manage full-cycle accounting for multiple entities. This role includes accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting. You will ensure accurate records, streamline processes, and support efficient accounting operations while managing multiple priorities independently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, proficient in Quick Books Online and Dext, intercompany transactions, and brings a proactive approach to efficient accounting processes.
Experience in real estate development and construction accounting is an asset.
This is a part-time contractor engagement (25 hours per week), ideally suited for a professional based in our Calgary office.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Full Cycle Accounting
Complete full-cycle accounting for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records, including month-end and quarter-end close.Maintain, monitor, and reconcile key general ledger and balance sheet accounts (including cash, bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts).Accounts Payable and Expense Management
Manage the receipt, validation, and coding of vendor invoices.Ensure proper approvals and enter invoices into Quick Books Online.Oversee timely payments using online banking platforms.Manage credit card expenses, ensuring all receipts are submitted, properly coded, matched to corresponding invoices, and accurately posted into Quick Books Online.Accounts Receivable and Revenue Management
Prepare and send monthly client invoices.Monitor A/R aging and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.Manage rental revenue processes, including setting up monthly PADs and preparing reconciliations.Cash Flow & Financial Reporting
Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and provide recommendations on intercompany fund transfers or cash injections as required.Deliver monthly financial statements and management reports for development project costs and intercompany.Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend solutions.Compliance & Year-End Support
Prepare and file GST returns for multiple entities in compliance with CRA's requirements.Prepare year-end working papers and coordinate with external accountants on tax filings and timely payment of installments as required by CRA.Liaise with company CA firm in relation to government agencies information requests, assessments, and instalments.Process Improvement & Initiative
Actively seek opportunities to streamline bookkeeping processes and implement best practices.Maintain adaptability and willingness to improve procedures rather than relying on outdated methods.Ensure digital workflows are efficient and reduce redundancy in data entry.Other Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING:
5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.Proficient in full-cycle accounting and government remittances.Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Online and Excel.Experience with Dext or similar digital invoice management tools.Experience with intercompany transactionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Asset:
Familiarity with real estate development and construction accounting.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite in a Mac environment.POSITION OVERVIEW & TERMS:
