You as a Civil Estimator will:
Support a team through the completion of a bid process for infrastructure projects such as earthworks, underground and roadworksAssemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates, including lump sum, unit rate, construction management, and design-build pursuitsWork on multiple bids simultaneously, when required, and not sacrifice the integrity of the bid due to workloadOrganize and “bid level” sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting Project Managers in the buy-out processBe responsible for completing project-specific general accounts for various project types and complexitiesBe responsible for pricing out various projects based on previous historical rates and productivityMonitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and risksFocus on building relationships with sub-trades and suppliers for future opportunitiesDistribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern, and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid priceMaintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future referenceIs this the right role for you?
You have a construction-related degree/diploma and a minimum of 5 years of civil estimating or field related experienceYou have estimating experience with earthworks, underground and roadworksAbility to use Auto Cad is an assetStrong understanding of unit rate bid process and software (ie. Bid2
