Your new role
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction operations, from pre-construction planning to final delivery. This role ensures that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards, while fostering strongmunication across teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Monitor construction progress through regular site walk-throughs and schedule reviews.Identify and resolve delays or inefficiencies to maintain build cycles.Coordinate seasonal activities and ensure pre-construction documentation isplete.Manage site services including utilities, drainage, and final connections.Act as the central contact for subcontractors, site staff, and project managers.Synchronize trade activities and clarify team responsibilities.Support Site Superintendents with trade performance and issue resolution.Ensure work aligns with blueprints, structural designs, and building codes.Conduct inspections to maintain quality control and minimize deficiencies.Oversee internal and external inspections and ensure systems meet standards.Identify and mitigate on-site hazards; enforce safety protocols.Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.Monitor expenses and verify subcontractor and supplier invoices.Track material and labor costs against budget and flag discrepancies.Optimize resource allocation and coordinate timely material deliveries.Provide budget updates and expenditure summaries to senior management.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).Certifications such as Gold Seal (GSC), COR/NCSO, First Aid & CPR, or PMP are considered assets.Proven experience managing residential construction projects.Strong leadership,munication, and organizational skills.In-depth knowledge of Alberta Building Code and safety regulations.Proficiency with construction management tools and reporting systems.
