Salary: $90,000 – $135,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits, bonus, RRSP.
Location:
Calgary, Alberta.

The CompanyWe are partnering with a leading firm that has a well established office in Calgary, searching for a skilled and registered architect with the AAA to join their busy office. The firm is recognized for its success across a range of sectors and for its excellent service delivery.
The JobAs a Registered Architect with the AAA or eligible to become registered in Alberta, you will be involved in the following:
- Work energetically with the project team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
- Liaise with clients through various phases of the project to ensure client satisfaction; project management.
- Establish, maintain and adhere to project budget and schedule.
- Supervise preparation of technical drawings by less experienced architects or professionals.
- Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
- Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and best practice standards.
- Incorporate integrated sustainable design solutions into projects.
- Provide support to less experienced staff.
- Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the project leadership team.
- Write reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions.
- Review completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for coordination.
- Participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
- Participate in project reviews regarding project costs, budgets and adherence to schedule.
- Communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner at all times, both verbally and in writing, and will have regular interface with clients.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Possess a range of project experience, including public, cultural, mixed‑use and institutional work.
- Excellent design skills, creative and able to work through design issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong experience and knowledge of the national building code and bylaws.
- Familiarity with Revit.
- Strong work ethic and collaborative approach.
- Strong portfolio of work.
- Leadership skills are an asset.
