As a Design Technologist, you’ll play a key role in bringing AV projects to life by creating accurate, professional documentation and collaborating with project teams. Your responsibilities include:
Design & Drafting: Prepare detailed system drawings, schematics, floor plans, and elevations using AutoCAD and related tools. Update documentation throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes and field markups.Collaboration: Work closely with Project Leads, Sales, and Installation teams to ensure designs meet real-world requirements. Incorporate feedback from programming and field teams for seamless integration.Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for accuracy and consistency in all drawings. Support template and process improvements for drafting standards.Technical Growth: Learn AV system architecture, signal flow, and integration best practices. Participate in training and mentorship programs to advance your technical skills.What are the Requirements?1–3 years of experience in drafting, CAD design, or technical documentation (AV or low-voltage experience is a plus, but we will consider candidates with experience in relevant spaces!)Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with D-Tools, Visio, or PDF markup tools is an asset.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Basic understanding of AV, IT, or construction terminology preferred.A proactive, quality-driven mindset and willingness to learn.Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.CSA-approved safety boots (Green Triangle).Ability to provide a Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check (no cost to you)Ready to Design Your Future?
