RolePurpose
Your role will focus on retaining and growing clients in the natural resources sector through face‑to‑face meetings, phone conversations, and web‑based solutions. You will identify opportunities to expand our research coverage and consulting services in crude oil markets, natural gas fundamentals, refining margins, and energy transition strategies. As a key driver of sales execution and performance, you will achieve sales targets and manage resources effectively for your client portfolio.
MainResponsibilities
- Develop comprehensive account strategies that incorporate oil and gas market cycles, commodity price volatility, and upstream/downstream investment patterns.
- Proactively manage commercial growth aligned with regional energy market priorities and commodity trading patterns.
- Identify high‑potential clients for cross‑selling opportunities across our oil, gas, LNG, and refined products research suite.
- Execute account management strategies using deep understanding of commodity market dynamics and energy sector business models.
- Serve as the critical link between clients’ commodity market needs and Wood Mackenzie’s energy research capabilities.
- Engage clients to understand their growth potential and how our product suite supports that growth.
- Handle client inquiries related to oil and gas market outlooks, price forecasting, and supply/demand fundamentals.
- Represent Wood Mackenzie at conferences and professional organizations to expand brand recognition and promote business development activities.
- Provide continuous feedback on evolving client needs in oil and gas markets, including emerging trends in energy transition and commodity trading.
- Support launches of new products covering crude oil benchmarks, natural gas pricing, refining economics, and petrochemical markets.
- Collaborate with research, consulting, and data services teams to align account management with commodity research and market analysis functions.
- Effectively manage the business pipeline for accurate forecasting and high‑quality deliverables.
- Direct experience in oil and gas industry operations, commodity trading, or energy market fundamental analysis.
- Experience in the Canadian energy industry is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of account management processes, procedures, and systems within the energy/natural resources sector.
- Understanding of how account management integrates with other teams to achieve overall objectives.
- Client‑facing or account management experience, with a strong focus on relationship management.
- Demonstrated success in developing oil and gas sector clients and building trusted advisor relationships around commodity market insights.
- Strong negotiation skills and a results‑oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail when making evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information.
- Ability to resolve problems by selecting solutions through application of technical experience.
- Self‑motivated and energetic with excellent judgment in resource utilization and optimization.
- Passionate about growing the business and committed to personal and professional development.
- Intellectually curious about how data and analysis can solve critical business challenges.
- Highly organized, with strong planning skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce is advantageous.
