Transportation Planner​/Engineer

WSP is currently seeking a Transportation Planner or Engineer to join its Mobility Planning and Advisory team and contribute to a broad variety of transportation planning and engineering projects across Canada.

As a member of the Transportation Planning Group, you will provide planning and engineering services across the full spectrum of transportation challenges, including:

• Complete Streets and Active Transportation / Trails Infrastructure Planning
• Functional and Detailed Design
• Regional and Area Transportation Studies
• Site‑specific Transportation Assessments
• Design Guidelines and Innovative Design Solutions/Research
• Transportation Demand Management (TDM)
• Transportation Modelling
• Public Engagement
• Road Safety Improvements
• Transit Planning
• Parking Studies
• Transportation Master Plans and Traffic Analysis

• Collaborate with colleagues on projects, from data collection and analysis to reporting and supporting the team on in‑field and in‑office technical tasks, including graphics preparation.
• Apply best practices and propose innovative solutions for multi‑modal transportation, transit and traffic projects.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, designers and landscape architects.
• Prepare and oversee technical memos and reports to communicate results and recommendations.
• Attend client and public meetings.
• Develop experience in project management and coordination.

• Passion and/or professional interest in transportation and a desire to contribute to multi‑modal solutions.
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering or Transportation Planning.
• P. Eng. or RPP designation.
• 3‑10 years’ experience in the transportation engineering and/or planning field.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in traffic operations and site analysis.
• Experience with transportation software and methods (e.g., Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, Sidra, VISSIM, VISTRO, Aimsun).
