The Architectural Technologist is responsible for assisting in the production of working and contract drawings for the construction of new homes.
Here’s how you’ll contribute
Set Job FilesPrepare plot plansMake job-specific changes to working drawingsLiaise with Construction team ad or trades on questions or concerns with drawingsDistribute construction documents to sales estimating, construction, and trade partnersResolve on-site construction issues as they ariseComplete design changes in CAD/Revit modelsProduce and maintain tender drawingsAssists in the detailed design process and coordinates design information;Collaborates with internal stakeholders to address issues that arise during construction and coordinate recurring issues and areas of improvement with the internal team in the interest of eliminating issues through future design drawings advancement;Conducts periodic site reviews for conformity to plans, applicable codes, and Minto standards, in coordination with Master Care and Construction departments;Distribute, track & report on milestone deliverables (. 25% working drawing set, 50% permit set, ;Submits site plans and proposals to city officials for zoning & permit approval;Draft site plan proposals for designated areas of the city as required;Coordinates with external consultants, manufacturers, and trades to produce and refine construction drawings and/or contract documents for various housing typologies (low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise & mixed use);Coordinates truss, floor, mechanical, and structural engineering drawingsWorks with suppliers and manufacturers in sourcing new and innovative materials, systems & products;Assists with construction administration, processing invoices & ensuring payments are processed as required;Maintains project filing system with current and up-to-date contract documents;Assists in compiling and coordinating drawings and specifications in accordance with the tender documents;Assists in the pricing preparation of construction tender documents and specifications by subcontractors;Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.What you bring to the team

Knowledge of the ABC (Alberta Building Code)Knowledge of residential low-rise buildings and of mixed-use residential mid-rise and high-rise building systems/assemblies and construction methodologiesAbility to use AutoCAD (2012 or more recent) and RevitCollege Diploma in Architectural Technician or Technology is preferred or equivalentA minimum of two to three (2-3) years of previous architectural experience. Site and drafting experience will be considered an asset.Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and OutlookUse of the following tech tools would be considered an asset, Microsoft Project, Photoshop, Illustrator, AcrobatKnowledge of Energy Star and LEED is an assetReady to build your future…
