Job Description

Imagine working on meaningful projects with passionate colleagues—helping communities bring their visions to life. AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning Studio is looking for a self-starting Urban Planner to join our growing Buildings + Places team and expand our planning presence in Alberta.

We shape vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable places. Our dynamic group of planners and designers tackle everything from mobility infrastructure, civic buildings, public realm and main streets, ecological master plans – and anything in between. One day you might be developing urban design guidelines or navigating approvals in Canada’s largest cities; the next, you’re co-creating a community land use plan vision with a First Nation community.

While you have Alberta planning experience, you will work across the country in a hybrid environment. You are as comfortable being on screen as in person, and are motivated when working on a diversity of projects and sectors.

We work daily with clients and colleagues, helping them work from vision to concept to reality —on paper, in person, and through digital tools. If you’re comfortable working independently as well as in a group, love working in a hybrid model, and can bring leadership to complex planning projects, we want to hear from you.
