Job OverviewThe Department of Medical Physics at the Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre is hiring 3 experienced Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists. This role offers a unique blend of clinical service, research, teaching, and leadership in a world‑class cancer centre.
DescriptionReporting to the Director of Medical Physics, the selected candidate will support external beam and brachytherapy programs, contribute to departmental research and education, and participate in the Campep‑accredited graduate and residency programs. The centre houses 10 Linacs, 2 MR‑Linacs, 2 MRIs dedicated to simulation and brachytherapy, an orthovoltage unit, a CT simulator, and a PET‑CT simulator.
Responsibilities- Commissioning, clinical development, quality assurance, and support of all external beam radiotherapy techniques, including SRS and MRL.
- Oversee brachytherapy programs and integration of automation and adaptive radiotherapy.
- Mentor graduate students, residents, and teaching staff; contribute to clinical translation and grant support.
- Lead quality initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology and therapy teams.
- Certification (or eligibility) with the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) in Radiation Oncology Physics.
- Graduate of a CAMPEP‑accredited residency program.
- PhD in Medical Physics (or related) preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to high clinical standards, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
- Minimum 5 years post‑residency experience preferred;
Fellow of CCPM an asset.
