Description

Do you want to make a meaningful impact within your community and work closely with veterans and partners? Are you interested in reducing homelessness among veterans and their families? The Mustard Seed is seeking a Veterans Community Advocate.

The Mustard Seed Veterans Advocacy Program aims to enhance housing access and support services for Veterans in Calgary and Edmonton. The program focuses on reducing homelessness among Veterans and their families by providing rental assistance, intensive case management, systems navigation support, and one-on-one counseling. It seeks to simplify the housing process and streamline service access through a single pathway, addressing each Veteran's unique needs and minimizing the complexity of navigating multiple support systems.

The Veterans Advocate will be committed to helping people who are experiencing poverty, housing instability, and other barriers to assist them in transitioning toward and maintaining sustainable and healthy lifestyles. The purpose of the Health and Wellness area is to support clients by addressing the social determinants of health through system navigation and advocacy. The Veteran Advocate will work as part of an interdisciplinary allied health team and connects clients with any needed external and internal resources.
