They work closely with our extensive broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk while being responsible for servicing increasingly complex accounts in accordance with existing guidelines and business objectives.

The Underwriting Specialist is responsible for underwriting and servicing increasingly complex accounts in accordance with established guidelines and business objectives in the achievement of national standards for data quality and service level agreements. Our Underwriting Specialists are experts in their field and passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our brokers – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and in‑person broker meetings are regularly scheduled in their calendars.

Working in a collaborative team, there is the opportunity to coach and mentor junior colleagues and further develop your skills from our more experienced underwriters to help grow your appetite for complex risks.

This position is within our Mid‑Market team, with a technical focus in the Construction industry.

• Underwriting – executing renewal rates, evaluating, and negotiating proper rates
• Sales and negotiations
• Solutions oriented
• Developing and maintaining professional relationship with brokers and/or customers
• Coaching and mentoring more junior underwriters on the team

• 8+ years of property and casualty underwriting, specifically technical underwriting within the construction industry
• Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
• Strong customer service background
• Team‑first mentality
