Associate; mid-level – Litigation – Aboriginal Law, Indigenous Issues & Regulatory
Overview
The Norton Rose Fulbright litigation group in Calgary is a leading practice for complex, high‑value disputes across Canada and globally. The team is experienced in energy and infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, commercial litigation, and is committed to advancing Aboriginal law and Indigenous legal issues, including title claims, rights‑based litigation, and regulatory proceedings.
Responsibilities- Assist as counsel with a wide variety of complex litigation and regulatory matters in Aboriginal law, regulatory and administrative law, and commercial disputes.
- Draft and present strong legal arguments through memos, briefs, and court appearances.
- Mentor students and junior associates.
- 3–5 years of experience in a reputable practice with significant exposure to complex litigation.
- Strong client service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Willingness to take initiative.
- Passion for Aboriginal law litigation, Indigenous legal issues, regulatory and administrative law, in‑court trial experience, alternative dispute resolution, and negotiations.
