Research & Development Technician (Electrical / Mechanical)
As an R & D (Electrical / Mechanical) Technician, you will assemble complex components per assembly drawings / bill of material. Perform functional testing on assemblies. Test assemblies per customer and/or division criteria. Operate test equipment in compliance with engineering standards. Set, calibrate and maintain assembly tools. Perform torquing of various components. Distribute quality notifications.
Responsibilities- Assembling complex components per assembly drawings / bill of material
- Reading/interpreting assembly blueprints
- Performing functional testing on assemblies.
- Following written and verbal work instructions
- Troubleshooting
- Accurately using measuring instruments.
- Provide feedback about ease of assembly / fitment and ergonomics of new designs.
- Associates degree preferred with 1+ years’ experience
- Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills
- Team player and capable of working well with minimal supervision while following safety procedures
- Comfortable with Electronics and Electric circuits, diagrams, instruments and electrical safety
- Must be able to stand during majority of shift, occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull up to 10 pounds of force
- Must be able to operate crane/hoist and pallet jack.
- Previous experience operating a forklift is an asset.
- Technologist, apprentices or ticketed tradespeople with solid interpersonal skills welcome
