Reports To: Shop Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager

SPS West is seeking a full‑time Welder/Fitter to support in‑house fabrication of industrial equipment and assemblies. This role is hands‑on and production‑focused, requiring strong TIG and MIG welding skills across carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
. Journeyman certification is not required; demonstrated skill, reliability, and pride in workmanship are non‑negotiable.

• Perform TIG and MIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
• Fit, tack, and weld parts based on drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions
  .
• Fabricate small to medium‑sized assemblies, frames, enclosures, and custom components.
• Maintain weld quality to internal standards (appearance, penetration, consistency).
• Work collaboratively with shop leads, engineers, and other trades.
• Assist with general fabrication tasks as required (cutting, grinding, drilling, assembly).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow shop safety procedures and quality expectations.

• Strong TIG and MIG welding experience in a shop or industrial environment.
• Proven ability to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

• Ability to read basic fabrication drawings and measurements.
• Comfortable fitting parts before welding.
• Solid understanding of weld preparation, joint types, and distortion control.
• Reliable, punctual, and accountable.

• Experience with light structural fabrication or enclosures.
• Experience working with thin‑gauge materials.
• Forklift or shop equipment experience.
• Pressure welding experience (not required).
