Production Supervisor

Equation Staffing is hiring a Production Shift Supervisor for our client in Southeast Calgary. This is a hands-on leadership role in food manufacturing for an experienced professional with a track record in production management, plant operations, and team leadership.

The Shift Supervisor will oversee daily production, ensure safety and quality compliance, optimize workflow, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing experience, strong organizational skills, and a focus on efficiency and employee development.

Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per year
Bonus: Discretionary bonus up to 15%

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily production operations and staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and quality standards.
• Lead, coach, and mentor production teams to maximize performance.
• Collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime and improve processes.
• Support scheduling, inventory control, and production planning.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to increase productivity.
• Maintain accurate documentation in ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards).
• Foster a safe, team-focused, and positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Operations Management, or equivalent.
• 5–7 years in plant operations or manufacturing supervision, preferably in food or beverage production.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills with a collaborative management style.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food quality systems, and production processes.
• Mechanically inclined, with experience working with maintenance teams.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards or similar).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Work Schedule:

• Rotating shifts with three supervisors alternating approximately every three weeks.
• 24-hour operation schedule:
  • Monday: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm – 3:00 am
  • Tuesday–Thursday: 3:00 am – 11:00 am, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, 7:00 pm – 3:00 am
  • Friday: 3:00 am – 11:00 am, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
• Non-24-hour operation (7:00 am – 11:00 pm): supervisors overlap shifts for projects and improvements.
• Shift flexibility is essential; alternative schedules may occasionally be required.
