Position Description

Scott Springfield by Modine is tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America. SSM’s leadership team have intentionally created a workplace culture that puts customers first, and values teamwork, innovation and accountability. SSM has garnered a hard-earned reputation for customer service, quality and reliability. To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add a Panel Shop Assembler to the Production team.

This is a Day Shift Position
from 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble control panels and power panels according to wiring diagrams and schematics provided.
  • Ensure that all components are accurately installed and properly connected.
  • Test and troubleshoot control panels to ensure they are wired correctly.
  • Record all necessary information related to the assembly process.
  • Identify and report any issues or concerns with the assembly process to management
  • Print wire tags for electrical department
  • Mark up electrical drawings and deliver to Engineering for creation of as-built drawings
  • Work with other departments to solve parts issues regarding panels.
  • Prepare parts for sub-assemblies and cut wires according to wiring diagrams and schematics provided.
  • Use hand and power tools accurately and safely.
  • Comply with company safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Partner with the Lead Hand to meet standard operation procedures to accomplish our quality standard, including accurately maintaining inventory controls.
  • Employee is responsible to perform the above mentioned, and any other tasks assigned to them in a safe manner and in accordance with our Health & Safety Policies, JHA’s & SWP’s.
  • Employee is responsible to understand and follow all Company Policies and Rules.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to work independently.
  • Must exhibit safe work practices.
  • Must be willing to work in other areas of our facility as required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment an asset
  • Must be able work OT on weekdays and weekends when required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-Workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.
  • Comfortable working in loud environments (hearing protection required).
  • Steel toed boots (CSA Approved 6’ in height or greater) required.
  • General understanding of engineering and sheet metal principles.
  • Ability to use various hand & power tools (drills, grinders, chop saws, band saws, measuring tape, etc.).
  • Safety Requirement – Respirator Use:
    This position may involve tasks requiring the use of a respirator. In accordance with occupational health and safety standards, all employees must be
    clean-shaven
    where the respirator seals to the face to ensure proper fit and protection. Compliance with this requirement is mandatory for employment in this role.
