The Bayshore Northern Staffing team has been working in partnership with Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) and Northern Communities across Canada since 1997, sending healthcare professionals on travel assignments to bring high-quality healthcare services to Northern communities in need.

We are currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) with Labor & Delivery and/or NICU experience for short-term travel assignments in acute care hospitals across British Columbia.

Duties & Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct patient care to childbearing patients and their families during intra, postpartum, and high-risk antepartum periods in a perinatal clinical unit.
  • Building trusting relationships with patients through empathy, privacy protection, and support for informed decision-making.
  • Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments, identifying risks, and determining appropriate interventions for patients and newborns in crisis, including transfers.
  • Teaching patients and families about health promotion related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, newborn care, and parenting.
Candidate Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • At least 18 months (1.5 years) of experience in a Labor & Delivery environment.
  • Valid CPR/BLS and NRP certifications.
