As a Protective Services Officer II, you will provide security and protective services for all patients, visitors, staff, and AHS property.

Key responsibilities include:

• Violence monitoring, prevention, and intervention
• Enforcement of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal statutes
• Asset loss prevention and internal investigations
• Preparation of court documents and securing evidence
• Risk assessment and hazard identification
• Arrests, apprehensions, and detentions of persons
• First responder to critical events
• Support for facility departments on security and safety practices
• Reviewing and recommending policy
• Fostering and maintaining positive public relations with internal and external contacts

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General
• Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks)
• Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence
• Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minutes, within 6 months prior to commencing employment
