To support the growth of our client within the Investment Banking sector, ALTEN Canada is recruiting a strong Java/node.js Developer. Our client is located in Calgary, Alberta and follows a hybrid model (3 days per week in office).

We are looking for a talented Developer to join the Wealth Management Technology team and work on their mobile services platform. In the Technology division, our client leverages innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power their Firm, enabling their clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of their communities.

• Collaborate effectively with PMO, Development, Product Management, Business & Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks, and Architecture teams.
• Create and review architectural diagrams, specifications, business requirements, and design documentation.
• Work with existing technologies (Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open-Source Platforms, SOA) and evaluate new tools for next-generation solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of financial products, services, and processes to design optimal software solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior software developers to support team growth.

Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Type Script, Node.js, Kafka, Active

MQ, J2EE, REST/SOAP APIs, and databases (Oracle, DB2, Sybase) with a strong foundation in OOP, design patterns, CI/CD, and SOA.

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including design patterns, code structure, and continuous integration/deployment.
• Hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Type Script, Node.js, Kafka, and Active
  
  MQ.
• Proficient in Java server technologies such as J2EE and Servlets.
• Experience with Java development tools like Tomcat and Maven.
• Skilled in API/Web Services development using REST, SOAP, JSON protocols.
• Proficient with at least one database system (Oracle, DB2, Sybase, etc.).
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and knowledge of design patterns.
• Good understanding of web services protocols and API design for extensibility and portability.
