Troubleshoot wireless embedded systems at OPIsystems Inc. in Calgary, Alberta, with hybrid work supporting globally deployed agricultural technology.
This experienced developer maintains firmware for monitoring and control systems while improving reliability, performance, and maintainability. The position combines embedded Linux development with Synapse radios, MQTT, JSON, Protocol Buffers, and hardware collaboration. It also supports releases, documentation, testing, and long-term maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:- Debug embedded hardware and firmware issues
- Improve system reliability and performance
- Maintain data exchange protocols
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
- Support firmware releases and production maintenance
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Five or more years developing embedded firmware
- Experience with embedded networking and communications protocols
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
