Dock Lead Job Description

The dock lead will be responsible for loading and unloading trailers of products using a sit-down forklift in a warehouse. This role involves handling product and requires heavy lifting up to 50lbs. The dock lead will work closely with a team of 5-6 employees, taking directions from the afternoon supervisor, training new employees, and occasionally covering for the supervisor during holidays.

Additionally, the candidate will use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for documenting shipments and inventory.

• Load and unload trailers using a sit-down forklift.
• Read and process orders, noting product locations on the bill of lading.
• Lead a team of 5-6 employees and provide training for new hires.
• Handle heavy lifting up to 50lbs and assist in manual labour when needed.
• Fill in for the supervisor during holidays or absences.
• Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for shipment and inventory documentation.

• Minimum of 2 years experience with sit-down forklifts.
• At least 1 year of experience in a team lead role.
• Forklift certification.
• Basic computer skills for email communication and data entry.

• LTL and cross-dock experience.
• Experience with Raymond reach forklifts.

The work environment is a quiet warehouse dedicated to storing and distributing carpet and flooring products. The facility is safety-oriented with a strong emphasis on attention to detail. The shift runs from Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

The pay range for this position is $22.25 - $22.25/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Calgary,AB.
