Operational Finance Analyst – Food Manufacturing & Retail

We’re working with a well‑known food manufacturing and retail business, recognised for its high‑quality products and strong consumer brand. The company operates a complex, fast‑paced operation across logistics, manufacturing, sales, and commercial functions and is looking for an experienced Operational Finance Analyst to support performance analysis and financial insight during a busy trading period.

This is a hands‑on role requiring advanced Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to turn operational data into meaningful insight. You’ll play a key part in supporting both the operational and FP&A teams to drive accuracy, efficiency, and financial understanding across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, manipulate, and analyse large datasets across logistics, manufacturing, sales, and commercial teams
  • Build and maintain Excel‑based reports to identify variances, discrepancies, and performance trends
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to explain results, highlight key spend areas, and support decision‑making
  • Support the FP&A team with ad‑hoc analysis, data integrity, and performance tracking
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial reporting processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements and streamlining opportunities across operational finance workflows
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Finance Analyst or Operational Finance professional within FMCG, retail, or manufacturing
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, SUMIFS, data modelling) and strong data manipulation ability
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to explain complex data to non‑finance stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working with large datasets and multiple systems
  • Available immediately
