This business is a highly acquisitive, private equity–backed organisation on an ambitious growth journey. With frequent acquisitions, ongoing systems integration and increasing financial complexity, we’re looking for a technically strong, commercially minded qualified accountant to take ownership of group capex, fleet and financial accounting support.

This is a high-impact role at the heart of the Group Finance function, offering visibility across senior stakeholders, exposure to deals and the chance to shape processes as the business scales.

Reporting into Group Finance, you’ll be the go-to expert for capex, hire purchase and technical accounting
, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting and smooth integration of acquired assets.

You’ll:

• Provide technical accounting support across the Group, including drafting accounting papers and advising on IFRS (15 & 16)
• Own group capex and fleet accounting
  , from approval through to disposal
• Lead monthly capex, cashflow and covenant reporting
• Manage capex and HP budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Oversee month-end processes including depreciation, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting
• Support the integration of acquisitions.
• Review statutory accounts alongside external auditors
• Act as Finance Business Partner to Fleet, Assets and IT
• Drive process improvements, controls and efficiencies in a fast-changing environment
• Get involved in ad-hoc projects tied to growth, M&A and capital investment

• Strong working knowledge of IFRS 15 & IFRS 16
• Experience applying technical accounting in real-world scenarios
• Background in capex, hire purchase or asset accounting (highly desirable)
• Exposure to acquisitions and integrations (a big plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, analysis)
• Confident communicator, comfortable working across multiple sites and teams
• Proactive, flexible, hands‑on — thrives in a PE‑backed, high‑growth environment
