Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cambridgeshire
Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing Bias)

We are seeking a practical, detail-focused Mechanical Engineer with a strong plumbing background to carry out Mechanical PPM across a range of buildings. This role suits someone who has previously worked as a site-based engineer in a customer-facing environment and is confident managing a varied workload.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (Mechanical & HVAC) across multiple buildings

· Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance tasks

· Support statutory compliance activities where trained (e.g., emergency lighting checks, fire damper inspections)

· Work in line with current health and safety legislation and internal policies

Essential Skills & Experience

· Experience as a site-based engineer across a multi-building estate

· NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent

· Experience maintaining HVAC systems

· Background in compliance maintenance within commercial or public buildings

· Understanding of Legionella control, ACOP L8 and water hygiene requirements

· Ability to produce accurate compliance documentation

· Good attention to detail, organisation, and time management

· Comfortable using handheld devices or CAFM systems

· Full UK driving licence

Desirable

· WRAS approved

· Gas Safe Registered

· Legionella awareness training (City & Guilds or equivalent)

· Experience with TMV maintenance, dead-leg identification and water sampling

· CSCS or other relevant safety card

Salary & Benefits

·£40,000–£45,000 depending on experience (Gas qualifications advantageous)
