Desktop Support Engineer

Location: This is an on-site role in Cambridge.

We have an exciting opportunity with an established organisation for a Desktop Support Engineer.

Within this role you will be providing onsite desk side support work, supporting users with endpoint issues and working with the broader team to ensure the compliance and performance of all devices.

Support will also include the management of M365 feature sets like SharePoint, Teams and One Drive. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience on specialised industry applications.

Duties:

• Troubleshoot client support incidents, liaising with users.
• Helping solve technical issues (hardware and software).
• Liaising directly with end users to resolve any problems, as directed by the Service Desk Manager.
• Logging and triaging of technical support requests over the telephone, face to face or by email within the ITSM tool.
• Using remote control tools and technologies to assist end users'.
• Documenting systems and procedures as implemented creating a comprehensive knowledge base.

You should be:

• Customer facing and have customer service skills
• Good communication skills
• Helpdesk experience

Your technical skills will ideally cover the following technologies:

• Azure Cloud - including Intune and Autopilot
• Microsoft OS (2019/2022/W11) including associated hardware
• Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, SharePoint, Defender and One Drive
• Network solutions including local area networks, wide area networks and associated hardware and technologies such as firewalls, routers, Wi-Fi solutions and network switches and cabling
• Cloud backup solutions
• IT peripherals
• You must have an eye for detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, great documentation skills and the drive to progress your own learning and career.
