Location:
based at our Head Office in Waterbeach, just north of the Cambridge Science Park. This full-time position involves electro-mechanical assembly and test of infrared thermal imaging products, including cable assembly through to full system build and test.
- Execute: the assembly of electromechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Testing: perform functional tests and quality checks on assembled electromechanical devices to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
- Troubleshooting: identify and resolve issues encountered during assembly and testing processes, utilising diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Documentation: maintain accurate records of assembly procedures, test results, and any deviations encountered during production. Update test configurations in line with ECNs.
Additional to the listed responsibilities you will collaborate closely with engineers and other production team members to optimise processes and resolve technical issues.
About You / Qualifications- Experience in electromechanical assembly techniques, including soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly. Familiarity with electronic, electrical and mechanical principles is essential.
- Troubleshooting, fault finding and debugging skills including the use of Flash Pro and Micro Semi programming dongles and relevant software.
- Understanding of basic programming, Python, C# and use of Hyper Terminal, Hex to Decimal to Binary.
- SMT soldering (to 0201) and pcb repair skills an advantage.
- Wiring and cable/harness assembly experience.
- Computer literate; ability to read schematic designs and working knowledge of PCB design software.
- Proficient in the use of standard test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, DVM, signal generator).
- Understanding of analogue and digital video processing an advantage.
- Understanding of clean room techniques for opto-mechanical assembly.
- Possess initiative, attention to detail, flexible yet analytical approach.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime as required.
