Practice Nurse – Permanent (1–2 Days per Week)

8:00am – 5:30pm (Ideally Wednesday & Thursday, but flexible)
Salary: £24,000 pro rata

I am working with a well-regarded GP Practice in Cambridge seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join their clinical team on a permanent part-time basis. This role is ideal for a nurse confident in chronic disease management, particularly asthma and diabetes, and looking for a stable position within a supportive primary care environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will work alongside the practice’s clinical team to deliver high-quality nursing care to the patient population. General Practice nursing duties typically include:

* Chronic disease management (particularly asthma and diabetes)

* Running nurse-led clinics

* Cervical cytology (smear tests)

* Childhood and adult immunisations & vaccinations

* Wound care and dressings

* ECGs and blood pressure checks

* NHS Health Checks

* Travel health advice

* Contraception and sexual health advice

* Spirometry (if trained)

* Infection prevention & control

* Maintaining accurate clinical records and using EMIS/System One (or similar)

Experience in primary care is essential, along with confidence in managing long-term conditions.

Candidate Requirements

* Registered Nurse (NMC) with experience in General Practice

* Competent in asthma and diabetes management

* Strong clinical judgement and the ability to run autonomous clinics

* Excellent communication and patient-care skills

* Organised, proactive and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
