Substance Misuse Detox Nurse

Location: Chesterton

We are urgently looking for an experienced Locum Substance Misuse/Detox Nurse (RMN or RGN) to join our client's team in south-west Birmingham.

Hours:

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week) Dates:
January - 2 months (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after 2 months) Pay Rate: between £34 to £39/hr PAYE or umbrella (no limited companies) Your new role Undertake physical and mental health assessments for service users and ensure appropriate sign posting/referral to primary care or appropriate secondary health care services for identified health issues.

To undertake Nurse Alcohol Assessments and determine safe detoxification

To deliver Buvidal clinics (long-acting Buprenorphine injections)
Assist in the titration process for opiate service users.

To provide screening for BBV, through dry blood spot testing and support to access Hep C treatment

To provide Hepatitis B vaccinations when needed.

Offer wound care assessment and basic wound dressing to service users. Essential Qualifications and Experience Current NMC registration

Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions

Previous experience in a similar role at a Drug Treatment service, Prison or custody.
