We are accepting applications for Casual Caretakers in Camrose, Alberta. This hourly, on-call position offers opportunities for temporary, long-term assignments, and eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions. The hourly wage starts at $23.60.
Role Overview: As a Casual Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments. Success in this role requires flexibility, reliability, and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize washrooms and eating areas; refill all consumables (soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, etc.)Clean and sanitize all high-touch equipment and areasDust, clean, wash, wax, and polish floors, walls, windows, and furniture throughout the buildingVacuum classrooms and steam clean carpetsOperate janitorial equipment such as auto scrubbers, polishers, vacuums, shampooers, steam cleaners, etc.Empty trash containers and remove all trash from buildings to appropriate disposal areasManage recycling of materials within the buildingInspect the exterior of the building, including playgrounds and play structures, to ensure safety and maintenanceMaintain cleanliness of playgrounds and ornamental areas adjacent to the buildingEnsure walkways are free of snow, ice, and other hazardsPerform ground maintenance such as trimming grass and weeding flower bedsReport maintenance or safety issues to the Director of Facility Operations and MaintenanceRequisition and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, materials, tools, and equipmentEnsure building security in accordance with the School/Building Security PlanPerform all duties in compliance with Board policies and legal regulationsPerform additional duties as required by the Director of Facility Operations and Maintenance or their designateBy submitting an application, you agree that the principal or designate may contact previous employers for confidential reference checks, whether or not references are listed.
