Williams Lake  – Williams Lake is in BC’s Central Interior Region, otherwise known as the Cariboo Chilcotin Region, and is famous for the annual Williams Lake Stampede. There is a population of approximately 35,000 in Williams Lake and surrounding areas with a total population of 62,000 for the Cariboo Regional District. A vast array of lakes, rivers and hiking and biking trails makes Williams Lake and the surrounding area a great place for outdoor enthusiasts to camp, fish, hunt and play during the summer months while winter months bring the enjoyment of snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding, and ice fishing for the winter months.

Role and Facility Information
Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) is a Level 2 Community Hospital in Williams Lake with 28 inpatient beds. CMH offers ER, OR, Med‑Surg, and Obstetrical units. Lab and diagnostic imaging and outpatient Hemodialysis Unit are operated on‑site. The CMH redevelopment project includes an addition to the existing hospital as well as renovations to the existing facility. The addition will add 25 in‑patient beds for a total of 53, a new emergency department and mental‑health unit.

Responsibilities

Fantastic opportunity for a Hospitalist to join the team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Williams Lake.

As a Hospitalist at Cariboo Memorial Hospital, you will work in the acute inpatient medicine setting and function in a MRP (most responsible physician) role for complex medical and co-management of surgical patients, as well as palliative care.

Working throughout the hospital, you will receive excellent support from the other CMH specialists and family physicians.

The CMH Hospitalist program supports the complex and diverse medical needs of our patients in an environment that fosters collaboration among specialists.

Working 8 hours a day you will see an average of 12-16 inpatients per shift. Participation in after‑hours call is mandatory.

Compensation
Clinical Service Contract – estimated remuneration for a full‑time hospitalist: $ plus MOCAP level 2.

Benefits and Incentives

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
Retention Premium 12.32%

Retention Flat Fee $19,092

Relocation Funding Available $9,000 – $15,000

Recruitment Incentive $15,000 (based on 1.0 FTE)
