Our client is looking for a Sr. Photonics Consultant to assistance to develop, prototype, test, and commercialize new sensor products.

Overview:

This position supports a specialty hardware development incubator. This role includes assistance to develop, prototype, test, and commercialize new sensor products. This incubator is expected to drive commercial revenue quickly and create professional growth in multiple ways: drive innovation while leveraging electrical heat trace and leak detection domain expertise toward future forward integrated solutions.

Must Have's:

  • 10+ years of experience with preference for photonics design/development or R&D
  • Deep experience / expertise in photonics, photo-electronics, and associated sensor systems
  • Experience with Optical Fibers, including Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) applications for emission and sensing
  • Education in Physics, Electrical Engineering
    , or related discipline
  • Executed projects requiring analytical thinking and problem solving techniques
  • A passion for taking initiative, overcoming obstacles, and assisting the development of novel technical solutions toward winning products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on collaboration, teaching others, and sharing knowledge

    • Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly learn the client domain and associated vertical markets, challenge established technologies and practices, and champion innovation.
  • Collaborate with the commercial teams to propose product solutions, gain feedback, and drive product commercialization rapidly.
  • Suggest hardware design leveraging internal / external resources toward rapid prototyping.
  • Document insights, designs, and technical observations through formal reports, design documents, test plans, and intellectual property (IP) disclosures (Client will retain ownership of any co-developed IP).
