About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Metallurgist to join our Mount Milligan Mine (MTM) operations site.
This role operates on a rotation of 14 days on / 14 days off at a 12-hour daily schedule with camp accommodations provided.
The Project Metallurgist plays a key role in developing, optimizing, and delivering metallurgical solutions across all stages of mineral processing projects. This position is responsible for designing and executing metallurgical test programs, adjust process flowsheets, and generating the data and technical criteria required to support scoping through feasibility studies. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, operations personnel, and external laboratories, the Project Metallurgist ensures that project deliverables meet scope, schedule, cost, and safety expectations.
The role involves detailed data analysis, mass balancing, process modeling, and the preparation of technical reports that guide project decisions and process design. The Project Metallurgist also contributes to risk assessments, supports commissioning activities, and provides troubleshooting expertise to improve plant performance. Strong project management skills, technical competence in mineral processing, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
This position typically requires a degree in Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering, along with industry experience in modern mineral processing and metallurgical testing.
