Position Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to the delivery of quality of care to residents. The Licensed Practical Nurse practices within the established standards of Shoreham Village and the Scope of Practice as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia.

Responsible To: Nursing Services Manager, Resident Care

Qualifications:

Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia

Graduate of an approved Pharmacology Course (if not included in basic curriculum)

Previous experience in Long Term Care Preferred

Additional education or experience in geriatric nursing, palliative care or Alzheimer’s & Related Dementia Care course considered an asset

Standard First Aid

CPR Certification

Must have regular and consistent attendance in accordance with the Shoreham corporate standard.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

As per the Licensed Practical Nurse job description

Hours of work: 56 hours bi-weekly (8 hour shifts)

Salary: As per the Shoreham Scale

Start Date: Immediately
