About the Role:

** We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician Trainee
** to keep our Bridge Haven care home in Canterbury, Kent,in top condition for our residents. You'll be hands-on, tackling daily maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep to create a safe, pleasant environment. This role is for
** 37
* *** hours per week
** with the possibility of some weekend shifts.
** A driver’s license is essential.
** This is a Trainee role, that will work towards becoming a full Maintenance Technician after 2-3 years.
*
* Key Responsibilities:

*** Maintain our grounds with pride – mowing, planting, weeding, and more.
* Handle minor repairs, redecoration, and ensure all areas meet high safety standards.
* Monitor essential systems, including heating, lighting, fire alarms, and H&S equipment.
* Support management with health, safety, and maintenance audits.
* Make proactive suggestions to improve our home’s environment and liaise with contractors as needed.###

What We’re Looking For:

* You don’t need to be fully qualified - just practical, willing to learn and confident with tools.
* Strong DIY skills
* Experience in labouring or handyman work
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* The ability to work independently and follow steps and procedures
* A full UK driving licence is necessary
** Nice-to-Haves:
*** Undertaking or willing to undertake carpentry, electronics, or plumbing qualification
* Previous customer-facing experience
