Catering Assistant

At The Eatery, we take pride in serving freshly prepared, seasonal dishes in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We’re now looking for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team on a casual contract, offering flexible hours to suit both you and the needs of the business.

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both our kitchen and front‑of‑house teams, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. You’ll assist with food preparation, service, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout The Eatery.

• Support chefs with basic food preparation and portioning tasks
• Assist with plating and presentation of dishes where required
• Help serve food and drinks while providing a warm, welcoming service
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas
• Restock counters, fridges, and display areas as needed
• Follow all food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures
• Assist with receiving, checking, and correctly storing deliveries
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as required to support the wider team

• Basic understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards
• Friendly, approachable, and confident in customer‑facing roles
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work well under pressure
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Physically able to stand for long periods and carry out manual tasks
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
