Job Description:About the Role
On Pointe Contracting is hiring an Experienced Welder & Fabricator / Lead Foreman to support high-end marine construction projects through both shop fabrication and field execution.
This is not a “sit in the corner and weld occasionally” position. This role requires real fabrication skill, leadership, and accountability. You will be expected to produce clean, structurally sound work and support field crews when needed.
If you take pride in your welds, your fit-up, and your reputation — this role is built for you.
IMPORTANT – EXPERIENCE DISCLAIMER (PLEASE READ)- Consistent, high-quality welds
- Proper fit-up and fabrication process
- Efficiency and reliability
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- If you’ve only welded “here and there,” that is exposure — not experience.
We value honesty and will pay for proven skill.
Working Lead Expectations (Non-Negotiable)- Work alongside the team when needed
- Lead by example
- Help keep jobs moving and organized
- Take pride in clean, professional, structurally sound fabrication
- This role carries responsibility, not just torch time.
- Welding and fabrication (steel and/or aluminum depending on project)
- Fit-up, layout, drilling, cutting, grinding, and finishing
- Build and repair frames, brackets, ramps, mounts, and custom marine components
- Support field crews with installs and repairs as needed
- Assist with barge-related fabrication and marine hardware
- Maintain quality control and structural integrity standards
- Communicate material needs and fabrication timelines clearly
This role is accountable for keeping fabrication tools and equipment organized and job-ready, including:
- Welders, torches, grinders, saws, compressors
- Leads, cords, consumables, and jobsite equipment
- Reporting maintenance needs early and preventing downtime is part of the job.
We pay for PROVEN experience.
Compensation is based on demonstrated fabrication skill, leadership, and efficiency — not just what’s listed on a résumé.
Paid Working InterviewFinal candidates will complete a paid working interview before final pay is confirmed. This allows both sides to confirm skill level and job fit.
