Bookkeeper/Accountant
Position: Intermediate Bookkeeper/Accountant
Company: Career Dynamics Global
Location: Green Point, Cape Town – Office based
Type: Full Time
Salary: R20 000 – R30 000 CTC (Negotiable based on experience)
Open to all applicants with a valid work permit or legal right to work.
Key Performance Areas (KPA)- Financial Record-Keeping
- Record daily financial transactions accurately in accounting software.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly documented.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.
- Assist in following up on outstanding client payments.
- Bank Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Expense Tracking
- Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper budget allocation.
- Assist in preparing expense reports for management review.
- Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax submissions in compliance with regulations.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Payroll Management
- Process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.
- Maintain records of employee hours, benefits, and deductions.
- Prepare payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Reporting
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
- Administrative Support
- Support senior accountants with year‑end financial preparations.
- Ensure all financial documentation is well‑organized and easily accessible.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Matric and relevant Financial Diploma/Degree in Accounting.
- MS Office, Advanced Excel, Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero, or similar).
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting (experience in the tourism industry is a plus).
