In these regions the company plans its growth based on the design, construction and operation of diversified renewable energy sources, energy storage and data processing centers.
To support our expansion in Africa, and particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa (with strong focus on Southern & Central regions), we are looking to reinforce our team with a talented individual based in Cape Town:
Regional Project Development Manager (Sub-Saharan Africa)
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
Contract Type: Full-time, B2B
Working Scheme: Hybrid (Cape Town office + business travel)
Business Travel: Up to 40%, mainly within South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, and neighboring countries
About the Role

As a Regional Project Development Manager at Green Capital, you will lead and coordinate renewable energy (solar, wind, and BESS) and Data Center developments across Southern and Central Africa.
You will manage projects from early-stage land acquisition to ready-to-build (RTB), overseeing local teams, consultants, and partnerships, while ensuring alignment with our head office in Poland
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead renewable energy and data center development activities across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Manage the full project lifecycle — from site identification, land acquisition, environmental permitting, and grid connection to RTB status.
Supervise local project managers and consultants to ensure timely progress and compliance.
Collaborate with technical advisors, regulators, utilities (e.g., Eskom, ZESCO), and municipalities.
Liaise closely with the Green Capital HQ in Poland, maintaining clear reporting and coordination.
Identify and evaluate new strategic locations suitable for hybrid RES + Data Center infrastructure.
Represent Green Capital in discussions with authorities, investors, and local communities.
Ensure that development complies with local regulations, environmental standards, and ESG principles.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of experience in project development (renewable energy, data centers, or related infrastructure).
Proven experience coordinating multi-country or regional projects.
Familiarity with permitting, land, and grid processes in Africa.
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and public communication skills.
Fluent English (French or Portuguese is an advantage).
High adaptability and readiness for regional travel.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage projects independently.
Nice to Have
Experience in integrated energy + data center projects or hybrid site development.
Background with international IPPs or digital infrastructure developers.
Understanding of fiber, power, and cooling infrastructure for data centers.
Experience in multicultural, remote teams.
