MAINTENANCE PLANNER (ENGINEERING) – SA STEELWORKSAIRPORT INDUSTRIA – CAPE TOWN
The SA Steelworks Engineering department currently has a vacancy for a detail oriented, process-driven, organized individual to join their team.
This position requires someone who is able to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurised environment.
The successful candidate must at all times conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the professional and ethical values of the Group.
Responsibilities- Facilitate and participate in downtime capturing and analysis of machinery and equipment
- CCMS management (C-works) – New Asset entry, loading PM task lists, scheduling and releasing PM cards, addressing work order delays, etc.
- Provide training to new staff members on C-works and its operation
- Generate WO Aging and Productivity Reports
- Assist team leaders in ensuring utilisation and productivity targets are met
- Process mapping of critical engineering activities
- Writing and revising SOPs
- Assist with stoppage day and shutdown planning
- Stoppage day and shutdown task management across different departments – critical path management
- Provide feedback and implement corrective action on task completion/startup gaps
- Assist team leaders with non-stock spares management
- Facilitate non-stock inventory conversion to stock spares
- Optimize time utilisation on repeat maintenance activities
- Manage and develop asset information files for both rolling mill and meltshop
- Update KPI boards in engineering office
- Identify and address safety and system related deviations in engineering
- Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Participate in RCA sessions and assist with implementation of corrective actions
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Suitable qualification or certification in a trade and/or business administration
- Valid driver’s licence
- Minimum of five years relevant working experience in a similar role
- Must be fully computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
- Must have strong proven administrative skills
- Experience working with an electronic maintenance system
- Knowledgeable on the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English)
- Must be prepared to work overtime when required
- Strong command of the English language: an eye for detail, meticulous grammar and comprehension, and exceptional written communication
- Basic understanding of additional languages advantageous
- Meticulous, accurate and attentive to detail
- Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills
- Ability to self-manage with minimal guidance
- Ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks at a time

Standard hours: 07:00 Monday – Thursday, 07:00 Friday. May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements.
