Machine Operator – Packaging Department

Our client is looking for two motivated Machine Operators to join their Packaging Department. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery while ensuring Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards are consistently applied. Reporting to the Packaging Supervisors, this role requires strong time management, accuracy, and the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain workstations and machinery according to procedures.

• Perform machine changeovers and setups, ensuring correct parts and efficient assembly.

• Verify machine components and report maintenance issues.

• Handle bulk material in line with GMP requirements.

• Ensure correct fill volumes are achieved and maintained as per quality standards.

• Verify balances for pack sizes being filled.

• Complete all in-process documentation accurately.

• Reconcile jobs and ensure proper document control.

• Meet performance targets, including on-time delivery, equipment efficiency, hygiene standards, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent (Mathematics advantageous).

• At least 1 year’s experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.

• Proven knowledge of GMP and SOP compliance.
