Web Developer

Overview

Web Developer position based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality websites and web applications aligned with business goals.

• Develop mobile‑first, responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations as required.
• Convert UI/UX wireframes from Figma, Adobe XD, etc., into production‑ready components.
• Optimize application performance for speed and scalability.
• Conduct regular updates, security patches and content changes.
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues and technical errors.
• Implement SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product owners and backend teams to deliver releases.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews and technical discussions.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability and adherence to development standards.
• Apply secure coding practices and comply with data‑protection requirements.
• Test and debug across multiple browsers, devices and environments.

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Type Script.
• Experience with React, Vue, Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
• Backend knowledge in PHP, Python, JavaScript or equivalent.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON and integrations.
• Familiarity with databases:
  MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, MS SQL.
• Version control with Git; collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• CMS experience – Word Press, Drupal or custom CMS.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or other cloud environments (advantageous).

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development, IT or related field (advantageous).
• 2–5 years of web development experience.
• Portfolio or Git Hub showcasing previous development work.
• Experience with agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban) desirable.
