Overview
Web Developer position based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality websites and web applications aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities- Develop mobile‑first, responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks.
- Build and maintain backend services, APIs and integrations as required.
- Convert UI/UX wireframes from Figma, Adobe XD, etc., into production‑ready components.
- Optimize application performance for speed and scalability.
- Conduct regular updates, security patches and content changes.
- Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues and technical errors.
- Implement SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product owners and backend teams to deliver releases.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews and technical discussions.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability and adherence to development standards.
- Apply secure coding practices and comply with data‑protection requirements.
- Test and debug across multiple browsers, devices and environments.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Type Script.
- Experience with React, Vue, Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
- Backend knowledge in PHP, Python, JavaScript or equivalent.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON and integrations.
- Familiarity with databases:
MySQL, Postgre
SQL, Mongo
DB, MS SQL. - Version control with Git; collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- CMS experience – Word Press, Drupal or custom CMS.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure or other cloud environments (advantageous).
- Strong problem‑solving ability.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high coding quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, solutions‑driven mindset.
- Willingness to stay updated on UI/UX trends and emerging technologies.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Development, IT or related field (advantageous).
- 2–5 years of web development experience.
- Portfolio or Git Hub showcasing previous development work.
- Experience with agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban) desirable.
