Position: ADMINISTRATIVE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Cardiff is a vibrant and growing city, and we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Education and Enforcement Unit as an Administrative Enforcement Officer. Our team is committed to delivering excellent service to Cardiff’s residents and visitors, supporting environmental enforcement through robust business and administrative processes.

About the job

As an Administrative Enforcement Officer, you will provide cohesive business and administrative support for the Education and Enforcement Unit.

You will support enforcement workflows, maintain the Council’s document management system, and ensure effective communication within the Enforcement Team. The role involves customer relations, correspondence, processing fixed penalty notices and payments, managing records, producing reports, and supporting Enforcement Officers with general administrative duties.

You will play a key part in maintaining accurate and auditable records, supporting audits, data inputting, data submissions and validations and ensuring compliance with Council procedures.

What We Are Looking For From You
  • Good general standard of education.
  • Experience with integrated record management systems and administrative processes.
  • Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and other software.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in a busy administrative environment.
  • Ability to work calmly, efficiently, and courteously with members of the public.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office or similar packages.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and apply a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and self-motivated, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
  • Commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

Additional Information

  • The role is based at Lamby Way but may require working from any designated Council facility.
  • The post is office-based and requires a high level of IT usage.
