Contract: Long Term Contract - 12 months

The Opportunity

We are supporting a major long term re-cladding programme in Cardiff and are seeking an experienced Site Manager / Project Manager with a strong background working for subcontractors on construction projects, cladding projects, façade projects, and external wall system packages.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a tier one construction firm delivering a high profile, safety critical refurbishment project. The Project Director oversees multiple schemes, so we are looking for someone who can truly take ownership of the site day to day acting as the driving force behind delivery, coordination, and progress.

What We’re Looking For

Someone who thrives in a position of responsibility, autonomy, and trust. This project requires a manager who can make decisions confidently, keep the site moving, and maintain high safety and quality standards without needing constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for daily site operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
  • Lead and manage subcontractors working on cladding, insulation, SFS, and external wall system packages.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate works to maintain tight programme control.
  • Conduct daily briefings, progress reviews, and site walk-arounds.
  • Ensure compliance with all building safety regulations, particularly relating to façade and fire-remediation works.
  • Monitor quality assurance, inspect installations, and manage snagging.
  • Manage site documentation, RAMS, permits, and reporting to the Project Director.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including clients, consultants, and design teams.
  • Identify risks, issues, and delays early, implementing corrective actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is carried out to industry best practice.
Experience & Requirements
  • Strong background in construction packages, cladding packages, façade packages, or external wall packages preferably on high rise projects.
  • Experience working for or closely with subcontractors delivering specialist envelope packages.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of a site with minimal supervision.
  • Solid knowledge of re-cladding methodologies, fire safety regulations, and façade compliance standards.
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Manager level), and First Aid are essential.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive programme, maintain momentum, and manage multiple trades.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and temporary works interface.

If you are open to a conversation, please share your CV, and we will arrange a call to discuss the opportunity in more detail. Looking forward to speaking with you.
