A leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a flagship project in Cardiff Bay. This is a high-value, fast-paced development within the sports, leisure and hotel sector, offering long-term progression and the opportunity to play a key commercial role on one of Wales’ most exciting builds.

The Role

You will take commercial ownership of major work packages, ensuring accurate cost control, subcontract management and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with the commercial lead, project team and client representatives, you’ll drive value, manage risk and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Full commercial management of allocated packages on a large mixed-use scheme

* Cost planning, forecasting, budgeting and monthly reporting

* Procurement of subcontractors and negotiation of contract terms

* Management of valuations, variations and final accounts

* Ensuring robust commercial governance and adherence to contract conditions

* Working collaboratively with delivery teams to maintain programme and project targets

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor

* Strong background in sports, leisure and/or hotel projects

* Excellent knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts

* Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills

* Ability to start at short notice (ASAP preferred)
