Production Apprenticeship - Level 3 - Creative Production – Cardiff (BBC)

Join us as an apprentice at the BBC to kick‑start a rewarding career in broadcasting. You’ll learn on‑the‑job, develop your skills, and work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Digital and Creative Media while contributing to real projects.

This is your chance to launch a career at the heart of British broadcasting. Depending on your placement area you may work behind the scenes on exciting productions – from gripping dramas to live radio – and gain a recognised qualification while learning the craft of creative production.

• Work alongside experienced promo directors and editors to craft captivating video trails for TV and digital platforms.
• Create trails for BBC TV and digital/social media platforms.
• Receive training and mentorship from seasoned creatives.
• Participate in campaigns for some of the BBC’s biggest brands.

You’ll also attend learning blocks (a week or two at a time) with our learning provider at the BBC, working towards an industry‑recognised qualification. Learning blocks will be delivered in‑person.

We look for potential rather than formal qualifications. If you have:

• Curiosity
• Creativity
• An interest in video editing, filming, or motion graphics

This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates. If you have a degree, please consider other roles on the BBC careers site.

• Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026.
• Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship.
• Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
• Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation.
• No prior learning is required to apply.

For candidates under 19 years at 8 September 2026, Essential Skills Wales Level 2 in Communication and Application of Number must be achieved within the first 12 months of the apprenticeship.
